It all started with our neighbor's dog Bailey losing normal use of hers rear legs.
After numerous visits to the vet office and a series of expensive treatments, it became obvious that Bailey will never regain normal use of her rear legs. Someone suggested getting wheels on a frame made for disabled dogs and that is just what Bailey got.
After a short transition period, Bailey became accustomed to her wheels and was able to move around.
The device Bailey used was far from perfect. Frame adjustments were limited and hard to make, requiring the use of special tools. The supportive harness was less comfortable than expected and the device as a whole was cumbersome to store and transport.
Observation of shortcomings of this and other devices enticed us to design and build the Dog Rover. A unique rear harness with padded plilows, partial back frame, T-bar instead of side rails, and fully adjustable and easy to store Dog Rover represents our option of the dog wheelchair.
